Have difficulty sleeping
1. Bananas -- They contain soothing melatonin, serotonin, and magnesium which is a muscle relaxant.
2. Warm milk -- Milk has some tryptophan, an amino acid that has a sedative-like effect, and calcium, which helps the brain use tryptophan to make you sleepy.
3. Honey -- Drizzle a little in your warm milk or herb tea. Although honey has sugar, honey has chemicals that tell your brain to turn off orexin. Turning off orexin in your brain helps sedate you.
4. Oatmeal -- Oats are a rich source of melatonin ( a chemical that triggers drowsiness). Oatmeal is also a great way to fill your stomach so take it over an hour before dinner.
5. Bread- Bread, preferably whole wheat bread, allows the chemical tryptophan to get to your brain, where it’s converted to serotonin and sends the message to the rest of your body that it is sleeping time.
